I like the idea of an all-star BBL team, that would be one way to seriously compete in Europe!
I know it’s probably against all the rules, but there was talk recently about the Euroleage being interested in a dedicated London team (i.e. one that didn’t play domestically), so is it such a farfetched idea? Would FIBA allow it? Would the BBL (and it’s respective teams) allow players to play for both their teams and a BBL All-Stars team in Europe?
Tune in next week for another of my hare-brained ideas…
Great idea, although it didn’t work for them - they didn’t win a single game and finished last in their group. But I think the idea is a solid one... if the BBL were to do similar it would be a great way of promoting British basketball internationally. It would feel like we were cheating just a little bit though.

Solly: "I thought it was a great day out, and it appeared like those around me (basketball fans new and old) did too. And for the haters, it’s back to proper basketball now… and everything that comes with it… smaller crowds, no television coverage etc. etc."
