Phoenix will need Norl back playing and fit to have a chance tonight I think. Tough few weeks ahead with Riders, Lions, Royals, Sharks, Eagles & Riders as the next 6 games. If they're still at 50% after that run they'll have done very well!

Hopefully everyone fit for tonight's game, should be real tough one for Nix to come away with a win. Riders have a wonderful winning habit of ending up at 40 minutes play with more points than the opposition no matter how they played or what the score was for the previous 39 3/4 minutes. We're the opposite and can play well and be in the game for 38+ minutes then add away. Here's hoping for a change in that!!!
Big 👋👏👋👋 to all the regular Riders fans who I love to chat with before the games, normal life got in the way of my visit tonight. I'll be watching though!!!
I think this is winnable with or without Norl. The personnel changes have made a big difference. The bench is producing as well. Makhem takhem regally informs us that we are inconsistent but we are capable of posting big numbers. Riders d isn’t what it was and they are deep but lack the stars of recent years. Trayvon didn’t produce like his first spell and has moved on. Bernadini, Sulli, Taylor have all gone whilst Tommo is older. Holder and Hampton not producing as yet as consistently as recent years. A lot will depend on how well Mamo shoots and how well your new guy handes CJ.
That result wasn’t anything to do with the refs. Phoenix unlucky with Dii’jons early injury (be a massive blow if it’s as serious as it looked), but the usual panic set in when ahead in the 4th and they couldn’t see it out. Very much a ‘nearly’ team this one.
Thought Sayers played well again - much better player than I expected - his 3 point shot is effortless!
At best we've a roster of 6 BBL level players, if they're all available, fit and on the court we're a match for anyone. If one of them is missing then our very shallow bench gets exposed. Sol has had one good game all season that I can remember, he looks very short of confidence and every time he gets the ball it looks like he's going to turn it over through a bad pass, travel or at best put up a poor shot. Dizzy is a good defensive player but he's a poor distributor and PG and not a replacement for Norl.
It must be so frustrating for the team to consistently build up a lead and then watch it disappear once those 6 get subbed out! If Dii'jon is out for some time, they need to bring someone in or we'll struggle to win another game.

Thought our defence was the difference between the two teams. It intensified in the 4Q and Phoenix found it difficult to get good looks. JWH had yet another good game and his defensive skill + determination to win back the ball was huge for us. Great to see Holder & Hampton on form again. Think we could have used Williams better in the low post at times. Team looked comfortable with each other and there was definite spirit and camaraderie from everyone, bench included.
For once I thought the refs had a good game. They didn't make the cardinal error of calling for tiddly little fouls early on, which inevitably means they have to call everything after that and it all gets silly.
Riders - improvement, playing like a team. I hate to say it but I don't think it is just coincidence that Burnett is not playing. Did what Riders have done these last few seasons and that is to lock up the defence in Q4. Solid work by Hampton, JR and Thomson. And again a game winner in Josh Ward-Hibbert. If I was Russell Levenston I'd be signing him up to a contract for next season, right now.
Nix - OK and certainly made a good run of it in Q3 but pretty much reliant on Sayers knocking them down. I can't say that I have ever been too impressed with Gettys and last night was no exception.
rutlandrider: Riders have released Phil Leonard- was on a temporary contract apparently.

chickenbroncitis: a good result to beat the sharks. Hopefully Lions getting rid of that coach will give us a good play off push and put us in the mix with the Eagles and Riders where we should be
