To be honest I wouldn’t read into this too much mate. Plenty of players of around BBL level have a workout with NBA teams during summer. Lester Prosper immediately springs to mind- he’s had various workouts in numerous off-seasons.
CJ can have grandiose ideas about what he’s worth on the current market. That didn’t work out too well for him at the end of last year though. The stark reality for him is that he ended up in the BBL in the first place due to concerns about his weight and he’s done nothing to put those concerns to rest in the past few years. His size is what gives him an advantage in the BBL- that asset is immediately wiped out in the US and in various European leagues. Also if you can’t dicernably improve your fitness in the BBL there’s no way in hell he’s getting anywhere near an NBA roster- at best he’ll get offered garbage minutes in the D-League.
Talent gets you so far. He is blessed with height and size but just doesn't seem interested in bettering himself. Maybe a stricter coach would help (no offence intended) but a rob, fab even paul james wouldnt accept that and thats maybe why he hasn't moved up a level. On his day a nightmare for opposing fans but to often found out if he is on court for longer than 4 minute bursts
